Talking to the Team – U18 Jodie Caig

Ahead of the Frickley under 18 championships next week, we caught up with a few members of the FOMO sponsored squad to learn a bit more about the partnerships that make up the team and how their preparations are going.

Jodie is up next …

Your name & Age: My name is Jodie Caig and I’m 18 so this is my last year in U18s.

A bit about your horse: Hespo aka Herbie is a 16.2 KWPN who is just 7 years old.

How long have you been eventing and what level do you compete at? This is my 3rd season Eventing and I have been competing at BE100 but we have recently moved up to Novice. We competed in our first one a few weeks ago which Herbie excelled at coming 5th on our first try.

Tell us a bit about your achievements/results this year: This year has been a whirlwind, Herbie has had multiple top 10 places including 2 Wins and 2 seconds at BE 100 and a 5th at novice we did in preparation for Frickley.
Herbie has also been jumping around HOYS horse workers qualifiers producing some lovely rounds even though he has never done workers before.

What are you looking forward to most about heading to the championships? I’m really looking forward to experiencing a 3-day event also being able to and taking part as part of a team as I have worked very hard this year to be picked.
